This Whitlam residence is a carefully planned single-level home that balances family functionality with a strong sense of openness and connection. Designed around a generous central living zone, the home brings together kitchen, dining and family areas with direct access to the alfresco, deck and garden, creating an easy flow for everyday living and entertaining.
The floor plan includes four bedrooms, a theatre room, separate living area, mudroom, walk-in pantry, laundry, ensuite, bathroom and powder room, with a total floor area of 322.24 sqm. The home also incorporates a 27.72 sqm alfresco and a 6.68 sqm deck, extending the living experience outdoors.
Internally, the residence uses a warm and refined palette, with timber flooring, soft neutral finishes, feature joinery and strong natural light throughout. The kitchen is a key focus, combining a large island bench, integrated pantry access and a clean contemporary finish suited to both family use and entertaining.
Externally, the home presents a modern architectural form with a mix of clean render, cladding, glazing and landscaped outdoor spaces. The design responds well to the block, creating private internal zones while opening the main living areas toward the alfresco and garden.
The MBA judges commended the project for the care taken in the details and the high level of finish across the home, noting that it was a well-executed build demonstrating solid workmanship.
This Whitlam residence reflects Prof Homes’ focus on practical design, quality construction and considered detailing, delivering a custom home that feels spacious, functional and beautifully resolved.
